🌜Dedication

I dedicate this diary to my son, Kalib, who gave me my first deck when I came back to California. He's an amazing tarot reader.

About Me

My name is Kyong-Mi Dillard.  I have been using the internet since 1993 to communicate and entertain.  I live in Southern California and was introduced to Tarot in 1998, by my massage teacher.  I had my first reading done by her and she read my cards in such a way, I was left stunned, and lying to her about everything she found.  She was right, but I didn't want her to be, as I was embarassed, so I told her the opposite of everything she read to me.  She probably knew that, too.

In the early-2000s, I was introduced to the Learning Light Foundation to take Reiki classes, by a friend/coworker who used to attend their psychic fairs.  She was heavily into tarot and oracle cards.  She brought Angel cards to work and read my angel cards.  I was more accepting of Angel cards as tarot had a taboo sound to it.  It took me years later to accept they are all the same, it's just the way you define them.

I began buying tarot and oracle cards wherever I could find them and had quite a huge collection.  I moved to Hawaii in 2016, leaving everything I had behind me.  I left with no cards.

During this time, my son Kalib began reading tarot.  He probably inherited some of my cards during my absence.  He really got good at reading them and deciphering messages and information from them.  He bought me my first deck while living back in California for Christmas in 2022.

On October 30, 2024, I had been experiencing a lot of bad situations, and I just wanted a sign to figure out how to make my life better without a therapist. I knew I wasn't grounded.  I wandered into a thrift store, looking for Halloween decorations and found 3 sets of oracle cards.  I only bought one set.  My Soul cards.  Looking at the prettier decks on the shelf, this box of cards called to me first.  I opened it up and saw the cards, and knew they were for me.  They spoke to me in a way that I knew I could apply them to my meditations and self-reflection.

I'm a mother of 3 and a wife.  I am a massage therapist since 1998.  I am also a genealogist and a hiker.  I love Mexican food and Hawaiian local foods.  I collect wind-up toys and tiki paraphranalia.
